Garbage container that works

I have had a Glad roommate garbage container for a while now under by kitchen sink cupboard. We use plastic shopping bags inside the container, but have found that they always seem to fall inside, as the bags are short compared to the container.

Since our town has started to collect food waste in the green bins, we have reduced our garbage considerably. With the number of bags that we seem to accumulate, since we don't always remember to bring the reusable shopping bags, we use them for garbage.

So this is what the container looked like when we first bought it.

Now as you can see the container is fairly tall in size and the regular shopping bags are shorter. So over time as the bag fills up and gets heavier, the bag slips down and then doesn't stay wrapped around the container.

So while shopping at Home Depot a few weeks ago, looking for a countertop sealer, I saw the Command 3M products on sale.  I bought a bunch of hooks and velcro knowing that they would come handy for different projects.  I wasn't sure that I was going to use them for, other than most likely be using them in the trailer that we are hoping to get soon.
Then when I got home it came to me.  Why now put a hook on each side of the bin upside down and use it to hold the handles of the garbage bags.  So this is what I did and this is how it looks. WORKS GREAT!!!!!

I had one of those moments.  " Why didn't I think of that before? "

So this has been my latest project that is finished.  Unfortunately I have a few other projects on the go that are not done yet, so I haven't been able to share them with you.

Soon I will share the final segment of the bathroom vanity, the countertop painting. We are waiting to get the sealer for the countertop as Home Depot did not have any left.  I must say that it is looking great.  Also there is a piece of "Art work", as I call it, that I will be hanging in the bathroom upstairs and a basket made out of a K-cup cardboard box.
